Maintaining Your Treadmill

Buying a treadmill is not all. Ensuring that it performs to its maximum is also essential. This can be made sure only if you take the following precautions:-

Make sure your machine stays dust free. Clean it once a week atleast. Also, mats which can be placed under the treadmill are available everywhere. They prevent accumulation of dirt in the motor due to static generated. The motor may get clogged due to dust, threads and other things thereby affecting performance.

Another key instruction is to always keep the electric cables away from any moving parts. And never operate the treadmill while wet. The machinery has a processing unit, which must be protected from any electrical damages.

Leveling the treadmill
is also required for convenient usage of the machine.

If the belt tracking is off, your treadmill belt may slip. This can be rectified by a quarter turn in the clockwise direction of the alignment screws, which are usually found at the read of the machine. If your manual doesn’t ask for it, it’s wiser to avoid lubricating the treadmill unnecessarily, especially with silicone or oils.

Refer your manual for any procedures which you may have trouble with. It may sound lame, but on the contrary, it is better to go through the manual atleast once to get an idea of the dos and don’ts in regards to the treadmill.

If maintained properly, your treadmill will work as efficiently as ever to keep you fit always.
