Gold’s Gym is a series of gyms, established by Joe Gold in Venice, California. It first figured in the movie “Pumping Iron”, making it quite popular.
Presently, Golds Gym is the biggest unises gym chain in the world having over 600 facilities in 43 states and 25 countries. They have also lent their name for fitness items that today includes treadmills.
Golds Gym treadmills are certified by Icon Health and Fitness. Icon is the biggest producer and marketer of exercise items in the world, with 4,800 employees and 10 manufacturing units in the United Stated, Canada and China. It is also owner of the license to other popular brands like Proform, Reebok, and Weslo amongst others.
Price Range
All Gold’s gym models cost between slightly below $400 to more than $1,500.
Weakness
The biggest weakness of this brand was the lack variety. The VX5000 the sole model Gold’s was selling for past few years. However with the introduction of new and improved models that problem has been sorted out. But the brand should try harder to market themselves, as many people are unaware of treadmills from Gold’s Gym.
Recommendation
Use Golds Gym treadmills just for entry level. Though the quality has improved, it is still inferior for serious runners.
