Horizon Treadmills

Horizon Treadmills

Horizon treadmills are popular for their low prices. Many of these machines are beginner level machines. But, as with most economical treadmills, these units also have doubtful quality and durability.

Meant For You?

If you want cheap treadmills with good looks in your home, then this brand is for you. Horizon models may have a price of a cheap treadmill but they don’t look cheap. However don’t be misled by their great designs. They are still economical treadmills, and these types of treadmills are not for sincere runners.

The Company behind the Brand
Horizon Fitness is a part of Johnson Tech, Inc. Johnson Tech also manufactures the brands Vision, Cateye, and Matrix. They have been manufacturing fitness items for both home and commercial use for over 25 years. In 1995, their production unit received  the ISO9001 certification for design, development, production, installation and servicing.

Currently, Horizon treadmills are produced in China. This offers the company cost-benefit advantage and so can sell at lower prices than their competitors.

Price Range
Horizons are available for very low prices. Their machine prices lie between $700 to $1,400. Hence any Tom, Dick and Harry can afford them.

Weakness
As these treadmills are made in China, their quality and durability are poor. China made products are notorious for being both cheap and poor quality.

Horizon Treadmills

Horizon treadmills may have started as a name to reckon with, but since a long time, they have been fading away. This is mainly due to a single reason that their treadmills do not have the punch that they may have had earlier. I am not prejudiced towards these treadmills, but for a company to be constantly in the race, it needs to develop and adapt to the growing needs of the consumer. This is exactly where Horizon Treadmills have failed miserably.

Although, Horizon Treadmills can boast of a cheap market price, but that’s the only thing that they can boast of. And cheap prices come at a price too. Horizon Treadmills are able to cut cost due to cheap labor offered by China. But this inevitably affects the quality of the machines as well. At the first glance, these treadmills may appear striking, but as time passes by, you will realize that these machines are better off as a showpiece than as a treadmill. The money that you may save by buying these machines will probably be half the amount that you’ll put in these same treadmills for their repairs.

Don’t be disheartened by the fact that quality comes for a price. There are few but substantial number of treadmills which may be a little more expensive than these Horizon Treadmills, but are much better in terms of performance as well as durability. Look around a bit and do your research, you are bound to find one. To conclude, going for a Horizon Treadmill would be being penny wise, but pound-foolish.
